Time management:   Time management is a planning process that determines how much time should be spent on a specific task. With proper time management, a person can do more in less time and walk the path of career advancement with less stress. 

In fact, time management is a special skill consisting of a combination of several qualities and habits, which play a special role in maintaining a balance between our personal life and career work. 


Why time management skills should be enhanced: 

Students and employees, everyone’s responsibility and pressure increase with time. If time management skills are not mastered, then it is seen that no work is going well. Even the family is not going to be given enough time.

This can create distance from family members. Outcomes can be catastrophic in education. And not being able to achieve the desired goals in the workplace may not bring the desired success in the career. After all, family life, education and career can be unsuccessful.

On the other hand, in the case of businessmen or entrepreneurs also the desired goals have to be achieved within a certain period of time. If for some reason it is not possible to achieve that goal, then there is a downturn in business. So time management skills are very important for maintaining balance in family and career and to achieve success.

Ways to enhance time management skills: 


  • Setting goals accurately:

Set goals in the SMART method.

S = specific

M = Measurable

A = attainable

R = Relevant

T = Time at work


  • Creating a work priority list: 

Divide your tasks into four categories based on priority. 

  • Important and urgent:  Do these things now. 
  • Important but not urgent: You can do this a little longer.
  • Urgent but not important:  Decide first whether you will do the job or not. If you want to do it, do it right away.
  • Not urgent and not important:  Avoid doing these things. 


  • Use a digital calendar or notebook:  

An important tool for time management can be the use of digital calendars or digital notebooks. There are currently apps or digital devices for writing calendars or notes. Where worklists can be made at different times of the day.  

Another useful aspect of using calendars or notes is that many times when the workload is high, there is a possibility of forgetting an important task. If it is recorded in a calendar or notebook, it is unlikely to be forgotten.

  • Deadlines and goals set:

Set a deadline for each task to be completed. Without a work deadline, it is not possible to do more in less time and there is a feeling of whimsy and laziness in the work. 

In the case of large works, one can have long-term goals. But in order for the whole task to be completed well in the allotted time, the task of dividing the task into smaller and short-term parts within the allotted time increases the chances of completing the whole big task in the allotted time. 


  • Taking a break from work:  

When you work hard, you can get tired and depressed. So you can take a break from work. You can have tea and coffee during this break. Or you can talk to someone a little. However, it would not be right to take a break for a very long time, it falls into the stage of wasting time again. 


  • Abandon the habit of storing work:  

There are many who, due to laziness or negligence, do not work on time. Later it is seen that they cannot finish their work on time. So everyone should create the mentality of finishing work on time. Abandon the habit of storing work. The present time must be given importance and the mentality of starting work from now on without sitting down should be created. 


  • Have a plan in advance: 

When you start each day, make sure you have a specific work plan for what you need to do throughout the day. Make it a habit to practice. Also, make a list of the next day’s work, so that you do not have to worry about what you will need to do the next morning. 

However, it is not always the case that you can make a list of tasks in advance. Many times a new job may come to you immediately and you may need to do it outside of your to-do list. Keep that in mind. 

When you make a to-do list for a specific day, you can set aside some time for urgent work. If you do not have an urgent job, you can think of an alternative to what you will do at that time.

When you manage time properly, you will record your entire work and create a work schedule. This will allow you to understand how much of your work has been completed and how much remains to be done. Then your whole work quality will be good and you will be able to control your schedule as needed. Then your stress will decrease.

Proper time management can create new opportunities for everyone, be it employees or entrepreneurs. Every employer wants to hire employees who can do more for the organization in less time by managing time properly and can play a significant role in improving the organization. If you can prove that you know the right time management, then your chances of getting a job and improving your job will increase a lot. 

On the other hand, if you are an entrepreneur, then with proper time management you will be able to manage your entire venture well and make your venture a success. So learn to take advantage of the time to be successful and find new opportunities. 


  • Get more time for yourself: 

When you are able to manage your time properly and do your chores properly, you can have more personal time for yourself and more time to fulfil your hobbies or spend time with family. Then there will be a good balance between your career and personal life. 


  • Being able to reach goals quickly:

Those who manage their time properly can complete their tasks in less time and reach their desired goals faster.
